Don’t worry about getting a laptop with Microsoft Office installed, you can get a license through FLVS for free. I know that makes things more expensive, but it is really worth it. FLVS has a list of system requirements for their computers that you can check. This way they can be working at the same time. I do find it important to have a computer for each kid, though. They can take the laptops with them and we can do the class from anywhere. I prefer having a laptop for the kids to do their FLVS classes.
I’ll go through both here and discuss how it works. However, in elementary school and middle school flex works very differently. With both of my boys, we have chosen flex mode. Or you can use it as a full-time replacement for public school. You can use it as a supplement to regular public school, in case you child wishes to take a class over the summer or take a class that isn’t offered at their school.
